“Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.” Psalms 126:2
The first verse talks about God turning the captivity of Zion. When He did, their mouth was filled with laughter and singing and they said to the heathen that God had done great things for them. When God does great things for you- when He answers your prayers in the affirmative, when He manifests a blessing, when He delivers you from a bad situation, when He sees you through the valley, when He makes a way out of none- there should be something in your mouth… laughter, signing, rejoicing, praise but mostly a testimony to the goodness of God.
How quick we are to call upon Him in time of need and trouble, but we should be equally as quick to give Him thanks and praise for what He did for us and to testify to others about what He did. People need to hear about the goodness of the Lord, people need to hear about God answering prayer, people need to know about what God has done for you. Most of the “heathen” think that God isn’t real and that He isn’t very powerful and that He doesn’t care about His people because He doesn’t stop bad things from happening to them. You need to be reaffirming God’s miracle working power, His love, His compassion, His care for those who are His before those who don’t know Him. We are His witnesses and if we don’t witness for Him, who will? Unfortunately, the world hears a lot of negative grumbling and complaining from us; isn’t it time they hear something good from us instead… something good about our God. After all, God is good… All the time!
