Our youth minister gathered the kids around him at the foot of the altar. He pulled over a table with two glasses.
In one was water. He told the kids (and us adults listening in) that glass of water represented him. To it, he added a sweaty sock (bad attitude), a baggie of dirt (negative, dark thoughts), some push pins (hurtful words) and dog food kibbles, which represented a lie he was told when he wasvery young. His older brothers told him it was a new breakfast cereal- not.
Then he took another glass and added ice cream (goodness), whipped cream (patience), sprinkles of good deeds and a generous portion of Barq’s rootbeer (love), because it’s his favorite.
He asked the kids, “Which drink do you want?”
What are we drinking in on a daily basis. Are we swallowing the gossip, back-stabbing negativity of the world, or are we sipping on the fruit of the Spirit?
Jesus told the woman at the well in Samaria He was the Living Water.
The world is thirsty for good water that gives life. Won’t you share His goodness and help quench people’s thirst ( physically and spiritually)? Or will you guzzle down what the world offers (yuk) and never be satisfied?
