No, this is not about road kill. It is about Luke 6:38.
Give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be put in your lap.
This describes a way to measure grain or flour. If you press it down, you can fit more in the cup because you squeeze the air out. If you shake it together, the air escapes and it pushes together, leaving more room. Soon, you will have crammed so much in, that it is running over.
God is telling us when we give generously, how much more will He give to us. Not money, but empathy, kindness, forgiveness.
The verse above states we should not judge or condemn, but forgive. When we judge and condemn, it is like pumping air into our blessings – our hearts fill with so much negative thought, hurt and bitterness, that the goodness will not fit into our lives. Like air, it is a filler. We think it may cushion us from the world, but air locked away becomes stale and toxic.
Release it, learn to forgive and God will pack you with so many blessings, they will naturally overflow into others’ lives.
As Psalm 23 says, your cup will run over.
