For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. Psalm 62:5
Have you ever had a time when your needs were so great, your heart so torn, your questions so deep that all you could do is crouch in silence before God? Words escaped you. Yet your yearnings were felt by God. Your heart spoke volumes and connected with the Most High. Scripture tells us God hears. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. Romans 8:26
And so we wait – wait in silence. But our hope can be strong. We can be sure that groan from deep within us will touch God’s ears and His heart. He knows our deepest needs. So, while you wait – have H>O>P>E> to keep you going-
H – hold on to your faith. Don’t let doubts creep in.
O – Open your heart to God’s response. Read His word, and believe the words to be true. He does have great plans for you. He is your rock. Trust in Jesus and give all your troubles to Him.
P – Pray. Prayer is not just spoken words- it is an attitude. It is keeping the lines of communication open. When you pray – Praise God, Recount His past blessings, Atone for your wrong doings and Yield to His will.*
E – Enjoy His presence. Sure, this may be hard, but the joy of the Lord is our strength. It doesn’t mean jumping up and down giddiness, but a deep inner peace secured to a foundation in the knowledge that God loves you.
Hope is more than wishing- it is anticipating with confidence that all will be well in the end.
