“– remember, The Lord is witness between you and me forever.” 1 Sam 20:23
This is what Jonanthan, Saul’s son, told his friend David when they parted. It is someething we all need to remember. God is our witness when we give our lives to Him. How we interact with other people, friends or strangers, should reflect His presence in our lives. We, in turn, are His witness.
Yes, it is tough, especially when you are having “one of those days”. We all do. It is not easy to live in a world that does not believe what you believe. We need to build up our immune system against the evil that is out there so it does not get to us and infect our thoughts. The spiritual antibacterial soap is the blood of the Lamb, isn’t it? It cleanses our sins and our thoughts and actions. It is contained in His Word, in the passages from Genesis to Revelation.
The next time things are getting to you, or you become snappy with others, stop and remember that you are a witness to Our Lord. Ask Him to draw near and cleanse you. Let Him be between you and whoever you encounter today.
Father, let me reflect you today in all I do or say. Let me be a good witness to Your mercy and love to a hurting world out there and my loved ones in my home as well. Always stay between us so we can turn to You for strength and peace, as Your Son did when He was on earth. Amen.
“You will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.” Acts 22:15
