Psalm 59:14- 15 Each evening they come back, howling like dogs and prowling about the city. They wander about for food and growl if they do not get their fill.

Serve It Up
By Julie B Cosgrove | Comments Off
And immediately he left the synagogue and entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon’s mother-in-law lay ill with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. And he came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her, and she began to serve them. Mark 1:29-31
Women are not supposed to get sick. We are the healers, the bad-aid appliers, the Doctor Moms. We are the ones that in spite of fever, sniffles or stomach viruses, still fix school lunches, find socks and clean up after the pet. We do four loads of laundry, go to the store, balance the checkbook and make sure the bills are paid on time while we go through another box of Kleenex and down the cough syrup. We never get sick.

Peace and Quiet
By Julie B Cosgrove | 1 Comment
What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.”But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” Mark 1:24-25
Ever have one of those “push-me, pull-you” days? Remember the llama like creature in the original Doctor Doolittle? It had two heads, one at each end of it’s body, and could never decide which way to go. It was called a Push Me Pull You. There are days I feel like everyone is tugging on me at once, clamoring for my attention. The noises of the “But I need you to” , “Me first”, and “Now” stuff my ears to where nothing I hear seems clear, just like when the air pressure changes. My day crowds in, pressing into my little space. Sure we all have had one of those days, or weeks, or years.

Green Olive
By Julie B Cosgrove | 1 Comment
Psalm 52:8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God . . .
What is it about the olive tree that would make David want to be like one? Olive trees are fire and drought resistant. They live hundreds of years and are evergreen. They can grow up to 50 feet tall and their bonnet provides almost 30 feet worth of shade. Their roots sink deep to find underground springs of water, so in a desert climate, if you see an olive grove, you know water is nearby.

Tomorrow’s Giants
By Jan Ross | Comments Off
The Israelites had just been delivered from the hand of Pharaoh, the relentless ruler whose heart was hardened toward them. God had a plan for His people , a plan that would take time – His time.
God visibly led the children of Israel on their journey with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. He could easily have led them to their destination in a very short time; however, they would not have been prepared for the battle that awaited them. The children of Israel, during their time of captivity, had been laborers not warriors. Their spirits were broken because of life’s circumstances while in captivity.

Blinders….
By Becki | 3 Comments
I’ve been so busy lately I’ve hardly been able to tell my head from my rear. Seems like there is never enough time in the day to get everything that needs done DONE.
Can I get a witness?!
I had a convo with God the other day about how to get it all done and how to prioritize, what to cut out, what to keep. I’m truly wearing myself out just thinking about it right now. The word that kept coming up through that convo was “blinders”.

The One True Hand Holder
By Gwenn McKone | 2 Comments
I’ve talked in former posts about the vacation home we bought in Sandpoint, Idaho. We bought it last July to make it into a vacation rental. Sandpoint is a six-hour drive from our home, so it’s not exactly convenient. It’s a log home, and the culmination of a long-held dream of mine.
