Attributes of Service
By Jan Ross | Comments Off
The mercy of God is one attribute that everyone finds easy to live with. If we’re honest with ourselves, we often think, “God is merciful, He’ll understand” when trying to ease our conscience as we face difficult decisions. Even those that have not made Jesus Lord of their lives count on God’s mercy thinking that He is too “good” to allow them to be eternally separated from Him even though they never made a commitment to Him.

Health in Illness
By Julie B Cosgrove | Comments Off
Psalm 41: 3 The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health.
I have had two friends lose their spouses after battling debilitating illnesses recently. One was a deep Christian, the other more of a social church goer. The difference in their passing, their last days in Hospice, the funerals and their wives’ reactions through it all were like night and day. The deeply faithful Christian couple witnessed not only how much they loved Christ, but how He was with them, sustained them and now is welcoming one of them into eternal life. Death was sorrowful, of course, but peaceful. And the life he now lives was celebrated, the comfort she feels daily very evident.

Godliness
By Jan Ross | Comments Off
Godliness . . . what is it? Reverence, respect, piety toward God.
Contentment . . . what is it? Sufficiency of the necessities of life.
The Apostle Paul makes a statement that needs to be heard and heeded by all Christians. “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Timothy 6:6)
Godliness in itself is great gain and is profitable in all things. And, wherever there is Godliness, there is contentment. This type of contentment is worth all the wealth of the world. To have the world’s riches may bring temporary contentment, but that soon erodes away as there is no foundation for life in earthly riches. When the riches are gone, or when they begin to place too many demands on us, we soon lose our contentment only to seek it from other sources.

A Cry From Haiti?
By Julie B Cosgrove | 2 Comments
Psalm 31: 2 Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me!
It is hard to watch the overwhelming devastation, need and destruction that plagues the people of Haiti. It is easy to feel helpless, impotent, and overwhelmed. what can I possibly do to make any difference? It would seem like a drop in a bucket, one with a huge hole in the bottom.

How do YOU market YOU?
By Becki | 4 Comments
Hello, world. My name is Becki and here is what I am: I’m a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. I’m a wife and a mom of 4 girls. I’m a photographer and I own my own business. I live out in the country in a state where we experience the extremes of all four seasons (i.e. the incredible ice storm that has laid 1/2″ of ICE on the ground outside as I write this. Only 60 days ’til Spring, people! Yeah. I’m keeping track.).
Here is what I am not: A marketing genius.

Keep It Up
By Julie B Cosgrove | Comments Off
John 3:22-23 After this Jesus and his disciples went into the Judean countryside, and he remained there with them and was baptizing. John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because water was plentiful there, and people were coming and being baptized.
Have you ever been ginning along in whatever ministry you were doing, only to have someone else come along and start doing it as well? Here you thought your were doing God’s will, you seemed to be making a difference and people were taking notice of your efforts. Why would God send someone else? Had you failed? It is human nature to be competitive, and that opens the door for pride, doubt and the devil.
